Wells Street
A cozy, personal home built from a blank slate
When I began designing this apartment, I approached it as an opportunity to transform a standard, blank-slate space into something that truly felt like home. Instead of accepting the clean white walls and builder-grade finishes as limitations, I treated them as a canvas—layering in texture, warmth, and pieces that reflect both my boyfriend’s and my personalities.
Little details, like soft lighting, art from places that matter to the client, and furniture that feels lived-in rather than showroom-perfect, helped turn the space from “just an apartment” into a place that actually feels like ours. It’s still simple and modest, but it carries the clients’ fingerprints: his love for clean structure and her tendency toward cozy imperfection, woven together into a space that feels calm, personal, and welcoming. Here, you can breathe. Here, you can exhale. Here, you know you’re home.
